JCC Chai Sports is extremely fortunate to have excellent instructors leading our programs. We have some of the most experienced, energetic and hard working instructors in the GTA. They all come from extensive backgrounds in their specific sports, and they have joined our family to help make your child's sporting experience, an unforgettable one.

Ice Hockey

Abe Lauterpacht: Abe comes to us from the Future Stars program, and has become one of our senior instructors. He has now been instructing children from ages 5-15, for close to 7 years, ranging from beginners to rep hockey players. Abe has been with our program since its inception in 2008, and he continues to be a huge hit with our participants and parents.

Aaron Stein: Aaron is an outstanding instructor, and one that comes with a great hockey pedigree. Aaron played Junior Hockey in the OHA for Thornhill, and also played at University of Western. Aaron has represented Canada twice at the World Jewish Hockey Championships and has twice won Gold at the Canadian Multicultural Championships. He has instructed hockey for years, working in numerous schools/camps, and we are lucky to have him.

Bryan Weinberg: Bryan is currently in his final year of Junior Hockey with the Vaughan Vipers of the OHA, and will be attempting to play at York University next season. Bryan has worked with kids for years, and still runs sports activities at overnight camps thoughout the summer. He is a committed and hard working instructor, and is great with kids of all ages. Bryan is also  2-time winner at the Canadian Multicultural Championships.

Lior Goldenberg: Lior is a junior instructor and is currently playing AAA with the Jr. Canadians. Lior is mature beyond his years and is great with the kids. We envision Lior becoming a staple at JCC Chai Sports for years to come.

Soccer

Vince Colletta: Vince is our Senior Instructor for Outdoor Soccer. Vince features every attribute one looks for in an instructor. Vince is a high school teacher, coaches several rep soccer teams, and works with the Canadian women's National Team. He has years of experience working with all ages, and has been a huge benefit for our program.

Ron Sandberg: Ron is our Senior Instructor for both outdoor and indoor soccer. Ron is a father, experienced player with Maccabi Canada and has coached soccer for years. He excellent with all of the kids and parents, and brings a strong work ethic to our programs.

Krystiana Clarke: Krystiana is one of our more accomplished soccer instructors. She has been teaching for years with numerous levels and ages, refereeing for more than 5 years, and is currently playing NCAA Division 1 Soccer at Miami of Ohio University. We are truly fortunate to have such a great instructor on our team.

Basketball

Sumanan Katheirgamathamby: Sumanan is our Head Instructor for Basketball and is simply exceptional. He is a phsyical education teacher, works with autistic kids and is a lead basketball instructor at Camp Zodiac. He is a tremendous leader, motivator and works well with youth of all ages. We are extremely fortunate to have Sumanan as a part of JCC Chai Sports.

Isaac Nacson: Isaac is a ball of energy and specializes in motivating youth. Isaac comes with a tremendous amount of experience teaching basketball and working with youth. Isaac runs several youth programs, including helping troubled teens, and many of these programs are centred around basketball. He is a major hit with our players and parents.

Matt Ziobrowski: "Big" Matt has a huge presence on the court, but is a huge asset to our basketball program. An experienced baller, and instructor, Matt also teaches basketball at the City of Vaughan. He is great with the kids, and has been a major part of our organization for 3 years.

David Bolshin: David has played and taught basketball for years, and has been a welcome addition to our program. He works very hard and has set up very successful lessons plans for all of our players. David is also a long time referee.

Steven Korn: Steven is a junior instructor in our program, but has provided leadership and energy to the kids of ourt program. He assists our senior instructors in all areas, but also the ability to lead classes.

Floor Hockey

Grant Smith: Grant was the long time Fitness Director at the BJCC, and has been the Adult Floor Hockey Convener for over a decade. He has tremendous experience with floor hockey, and has brought that over to the youth in our program. Grant has set up a strong league for all of our participants.
